Telonics is pleased to announce the release of the model TSNEO 12-8 driver/speaker, it will now be supplied as standard equipment in all Telonics equipment which requires a 12", 8 ohm driver.
OUR THANKS to the many Steel Guitar Forum members for their encouragement in providing this speaker.
It is designed as a modern replacement for the great classic JBL K120-8 speaker.
In broad terms, it handles twice the power while weighing only half as much and produces “that†great sound.
While it does the same great job in steel guitar applications, the TSNEO 12-8 is specifically designed to replace the heavy JBL’s.
Please contact Sophie at sophie@telonics.com to check on specifications, etc.

What is the sensitivity rating of this speaker? (i.e., SPL output @ 1 watt input, 1 KHz, at 1 meter) |

Wondering if the TSNEO-12-8 could be crammed into a silverface Princeton Reverb cabinet, ala Randall Smith circa 1969. |

Jack, I have put a 12 with a much larger magnet assembly into a Princeton before, so I think this speaker would easily fit. I'd suggest making a whole new baffle board. That way you don't have to modify the original. |

I love my Telonics 4 ohm 12. Super high quality with a great sound. I think I may build a 2-12 cab just for the new 8 ohm speakers. I am a Telonics sales representative, and you can order them from me if you like. I can't wait to try the 8 ohm version.
best to all,

True, but my 67 PR came to me with a 12" speaker screwed into a 10" board, and that's not uncommon. I was looking for a used JBL K110, now considering going with a big brother. Was considering the 12" Weber Cali, but afraid it can't handle distortion. As someone else asked about this speaker, can it handle some dirt without getting shrill? |

I have an SRO coffee can alnico 12" in my '66 Princeton Reverb and it fits fine (they're huge)...Larry Rodgers 12" birch baffle.
I had one of these Telonics 12" 8 ohms on reserve and unfortunately due to an unexpected health issue with great expense, will have to forego it for now... _________________ https://www.reverbnation.com/bigredandtheresonators |

I put a 12" in m princeton without changing the baffle....really, it doesn't impinge that much ...easy to do with a couple of wood screws doesn't change the amp much, and sound fine... _________________ www.facebook.com/swingaliband & a few more....

By the way- I have both a 12 and a 15, in my Milkman amps, and they are VERY similar - Dave confirmed that for 6-string or E9 steel, you won't hear a difference in low end, for C6 the 15 shows that it has extra bottom....the 12 actually does have more high end sparkle, also... _________________ www.facebook.com/swingaliband & a few more....

I am embarrassed that I haven't posted sooner, but I have a Neo 12" 4 ohm in one of my Nville 112s, and it is an incredible improvement IMHO (which is the only "HO" that matters, right ?) over the stock Peavey speaker.
I personally find that the Peavey speaker is great for C6 playing with fat chords, but for sweet E9 the Telonics Neo is so wonderfully JBL-esque. It somehow makes the very high end more silky/transparent yet loses nothing in the mid-range. I'm infatuated with it.
I have no personal need for an 8-ohm at the moment, but I'm glad Dave is offering it to those who like the 2-speaker sound. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

Herb i did the same thing to my 112 about two or three months ago, it sure woke the little buger up (IMO) now it dont know its only 80 watts if that makes since, the telonics speaker to me seems to breath better and makes the amp sound a little bigger than it is, great tone with it, then i added a little izzy and now every note on my guitar has something musical to say. I think the next thing im to try is to fit one of the 8ohms in the cube i have to see what it does for that, to say the least im very happy with these speakers and hope the 8ohm are just as good _________________ Rittenberry SD10, 2 nashville 112s with telonics speaker, behringer EPQ450 power amp, 705 pups, Telonics FP-100, live steel strings, mogami cords, wet reverb |

Roger I await your report on the installation of the Telonics Neo speaker in the Cube 80xl
I'm thinking of getting the 15" speaker and splitting my NV400 to save my back when I chose to take the 400 gigging.

Telonics speakers are just the best.
I am loving my 15" in my cab.
Biggest, clearest sound I've ever had, and nice and light too. |
