There are many examples but for my taste, these solos so perfectly compliment the song that I can't imagine they could ever be improved ...

David Lindley's slide solo (w/Jackson Browne)-"Take It Easy".

Joe Walsh-"Walk Away" (Honorable Mention-"Midnight Man").

Hitch a ride Boston Tom Scholtz Rock Guitar. Great solo but it is highly produced in the studio it would be real tight to play it like that in a live concert..

Me too, Brad! When I first heard David Lindley's acoustic solo on "To Know Him is To Love Him" back in 1987... I had to pull my car over to the side of the road and listen! That's how captivating it was. Beautiful tone and vibrato. David can be seen the original video playing a Weissenborn...?

I've always thought that George Harrison's solo on Nowhere Man was really perfect and interesting. Actually, he had a lot of brilliantly succinct solos that were also full of character. Not an easy thing to do on demand.

Another guy who was great at tight little solos on demand was Elliott Easton (Cars)
