Gary, you need to remove the period after the weblink or it won't work.

They're sure nice guitars. They play easy as butter and have great tone. Solid pedal/knee lever stops.

These guitars are very similar to Carter, except the price seems somewhat top end.

I dont see any conection to Carter on these russlers they were designed from the ground up
to be differnt from the run of the mill steels
and as per price they are right in line with most others and better than most

ACTUALLY, IN 1967 BUD CARTER CREATED
“THE CARTER CHANGER”. THE ALL-PULL MECHANISM THAT BECAME THE INDUSTRY STANDARD.

HIS DESIGN WAS REPLICATED IN PRINCIPLE AND IN FACT ON NEARLY EVERY PEDAL STEEL PRODUCED
THERE AFTER. BUD WAS THE PRIMARY DESIGNER OF THE MSA, THE MCI, THE CARTER, THE MAGNUM AND ETS BRANDS.
AS A BUILDER, WRITER AND SPEAKER, HE SHARED HIS MECHANICAL INNOVATIONS WITH THE WORLD
OF PLAYERS AND BUILDERS. HE REMAINS STEEL’S FOREMOST ENGINEER OF HIS TIME.

well that may be fact but there are more parts in a pedal steel then just the changer
what ever guitar you like is fine
thats your choice
ive played many kinds of steel guitars
I like the russler better myself than those that ive played in the past
so my choice may not be your or any other players

Mike look at the underside of your Russler carefully. Much of it is Bud Carter style. For example, look at your MSA rails that house the Carter square cross bars. Granted yours does not have the MSA and carter style bell crank pullers. That's a pity, because these ensure equal pulling pressure from the center of the puller and not from the side as yours does. There are other aspect as well apart from the changer, but perhaps I have proved my point.

Brian im sure you are correct in the many
of the things you are saying here
im sure a lot of the ideas from other builders are
used in the russler and many other guitars
but there are many things on the russler that are new ideas at least to my eyesite
the action and tone on the russler is the best ive ever played just my 2 cents
as for Stephens post I dont get it......
I have heard Russ play his Russler and it sounds fantasic
you know guys im not a beginner ive been playing steel for 30 plus years and have held pro gigs as well as many other gigs
while I do respect others opinons I do have one of my own Mike

Why all the bashing ? That's so unprofessional of a musician. If you don't like the Russler that's fine. I love mine. I don't know if there is a bad guitar being built today and I think Bud Carter is a good player and builder.
