Anybody ever seen one of these?It's a beautifull cab.The guy sent me some pics of the undercarrige which looks pretty antiquated.It's tempting just to use as a D8 console.Anybody ever played one?

What a beautiful piece of history!
It's amazing what a low price these go for.
"Buy it now" is $1200.
The front grill cloth looks like an old stereo.
And it's in Canada.
Where's my checkbook? Just kidding, I have to resist. I suspect I'll be sorry someday when I see this resurface for much more. |

Does anyone know the capabilities of the changers on this beauty? Also, what does that knob sticking up in front of each neck do?

| I missed seeing one of these at Cedar Point back in 1959 where there was supposed to one one display @ a music convention in connection with an Oahu Publishing show. I was there watching my brother's Accordion Center band from Norfolk VA etc! The guitar had arrived, but the legs & pedals were in a separate case and for some reason it was separated in shipping?? I never saw it set up. Always wondered what it was like?? I'd like to see the undercarriage??? |

| I believe the knobs are two parts to the same switch - the neck selector switch. When you push one down, the other one comes up. |

...I actually owned one of these once...for three days. It was my first pedal steel. I bought it from Drivers Music in Bethany, Oklahoma. I returned it after three days because I could never get the pedals to stay in tune, and no one that I knew, or anyone at the music store knew anything about how to set it up correctly.
In all fairness, if I had had some experience with pedals at that time I might have been able to correct the problems and kept it. I ended up with a Fender 1000 instead.

I wonder what it would have sold for at auction? I bet it would be more than the "Buy It Now" $1.2K.
George Grun talks about "intrinisic value" when he discusses vintage prices. He defines that as the price to build a duplicate. I suspect it would cost many times the selling price to reproduce this item. |

| I think the changer is much the same as the Multichord, but vertical. Also, I was told that the pedals worked on both necks, with a changeover of some kind. |
