Just as I was loading my guitar into the Jeep to head to band practice last night, the UPS driver pulled into the driveway with a much anticipated package. I immediatly unloaded the guitar I had just put in and slid the new toy in, still boxed up. The whole band got to see it come out for the first time. I got it set up and tweeked the tuning, plugged it in and straight into practice. We had gone through a couple of songs when our guitar player looked over and said "man, that thing sounds great". Hadn't even tweeked the amp yet! The lows are full without being muddy, the mids are smooth and sweet, and the highs cut through without being thin...what more can you ask for. Besides that, it's good looking. Rosewood top and back, split V front with honey maple over rosewood. Bruce... you da man!

Thanks guys. This one is 8 & 5 with Lawrence 910 pups. Great tone, easy pedal action, super sustain. It's a keeper. Reggie, come on over, but be careful...they're addictive! Let me see if I can figure out this post-a-picture thing.

Yes... Congrats on your new guitar Roger.

I'm sure you'll have many great playing sessions and fun with that guitar.

I know, I love my '87 and my '02 ZumSteels.

Roger...I've had just about every steel guitar made at one time or another. There are many great steel guitar companies but this is my first Zum ('79 birdseye maple) that Johnny Cox totally rebuilt. I love the Zum tone and playability! Have fun iwth your Zum Roger...Bill Simmons

Jim...we're talking D10 here. I sat down behind a 12 string once...all the notes were in different places!

Yo Roger

I have a Zum S12 4+5 and I know exactly what your talking about. Does Bruce Z. build the best guitars or what?

Roger,
I got to hear your guitar as it was "being born", so to speak. Congratulations, it is a particularly good one to my ears. Those 910's sound pretty good for a humbucker, most of the time. Its a nice looking guitar, too. I like that honey birdseye. I have it in the lightning bolt design on my 2000 Zum, with the rest of the guitar in curly mahogany. My keyless Zum is rosewood mica. Hope you get lots of enjoyment out of yours.

Bill...looks like the same color combination, just a different configuration. Mine is the "V" pattern with the Honey Maple over Rosewood with MOP inlay.
Tommy Dodd took a couple of picturs at the Saluda,SC show yesterday. I'll see if he will post one on this thread. I'm loving it more every time I play it.

Mine is just like Bill's also except I have the natural maple and rosewood.

Never see a prettier or better playing or sounding guitar. When Bill Dearmore comes to my house and plays my ZOOM, I hear what it really does sound like. I'M WORKIN ON IT.
