Well I decided to dust off the old steel and give it another go in a band setting. I have been sitting in here and there on steel, but mostly playing jazz guitar lately.
Anyway, not sure what to call the music. Emo-country-indie-rock?
All the tunes were one take, full band, no overdubs, so excuse my flubs here and there!

Hey. Nice songs, nice steel! I'd say for me the steel marks it as a definite child of the 70's country-rock bands. I hear the other influences, but that is what I hear strongest (well, the intro/outro of Lonely Highways are not very country-rock). And since that is still one of my favorite types of music, that is a good thing! In truth, as I learn steel, I've wondered how to capture that sound I love, but update it a bit. I think that is what you have done, and done well!

Good luck with the new band.
