I have been watching the Portor Wagoner show on RFD and was wondering who the Steel player was during his outside performances who wore a blue baseball cap most of the time ? I know it's not Don Worden

Thanks Todd !

He did some great Steel playing on that show but it seems he never got the recognition that some of the other big name steelers did.

I've seen several of the later shows that were filmed at Opryland when Stu was with the band and they did quite a few instrumentals. Porter always seemed to introduce the band. Maybe not on the one you saw, though.

Also, Right next to Stu was the late
Jimmy Colvard, [with the black beard] Jimmy was the guitar player on Dave Dudleys "Six Day's On The Road"

Jimmy Colvard was also a member of Barefoot Jerry and was from Minnesota, (my adopted 2nd home state).

Stu Basore is a extra super steel player with qualities in his playing that most don't realize.
A super person and player that forgot how to make a mistake many years ago. Has done much for steel guitar that most don't realize. The guy has GOT to get into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame with Tommy White and Sonny Garrish, Stu is my great hero, he has done it all, believe me!
