Lots of snow here in Denver, perfect for working up new material. I recently saw a documentary on Bill Withers and thought of this tune. I'm using my Frypan for this one, with a bit of pedal steel thrown in.

Thanks, guys. Ron, we have plenty of tunes in common. I enjoy your videos, especially some of the songs from the l970s.
Rick, always good to hear you play and sing. Hope to get to hang with you in Phoenix this January.

Chuck,

I've listened to it at least three times the past couple of days. Sounds great!

Thanks, guys. Glad you like the arrangement. I've been playing this tune on the pedal steel at some recent gigs, but I like it better on the lap steel. Some times having less strings makes you think in a different direction.

I've been thinking of recording this tune for some time now. I like your version, and you've inspired me to get working on it myself.

Nice playing. Cool

Hi Chuck. Great job.

I also like the lap steel vrs. a pedal steel.

If anybody else records it, try making the G's a G7th and after the Dm, go to F9... just after the word "anytime"
BTW, it's played on the "2 and" then sustain it all the way back to the Am.

Muchas Gracias to Jose Feliciano for a great version also. Check out the video at 1:49 Cool

HI CHUCK,

IMHO, This Is By Far The Best Tune You Have Posted On The FORUM. Your Rendition Has A Mysterious sound To It. Cool

Hi Danny and Roger,
Glad you like my arrangement. This is one of those tunes that get people out on the dance floor, but I also like the laid-back or "mysterious" approach that I used in my home studio recording. A great tune like "Sunshine" makes a good instrumental for the steel guitar.
