Anyone know what the first recording with steel guitar on the mainland was and when? Many were made in Hawaiia. Phillipines and Europe prior to those made in NY and Chicago.

It is my understanding the first Hawaiian recordings were done in San Francisco for Edison on Wax Cylinders...1899-1900...The steel players were July Paka and Tom Hennessey...no samples are believed to exist...
