For Sale: Peavey Vegas 400 amp - $45.00
OK, now that I’ve got your attention, here’s the scoop on why the low price.
I responded to a local Craigslist add for a 15” unloaded cabinet, and since I was planning on building one this was a quicker solution. When I went over to check it out, the cab was a (great condition) Vegas 400 which had the amp and speaker removed.
I bought the box and naturally asked where the speaker and amp went. The seller told me that he pulled the speaker to use in another cabinet after the amp blew. He then said, “It’s no use to me; do you want it?” You know the answer.
I then asked him what exactly happened when the amp “blew”, and he said that it just suddenly got very quiet. In fact he said you could still hear the output, but that it was not very loud.
So, I’m not an amp guy, but some of you are. And for possibly the cost of a power transformer (?) and a couple of other parts, you might be able to bring this classic steel amp back to life. I’ve tried to include enough photos so you can see adequately, but if you have questions just give a holler.
I’d also consider a trade (and add some $) for a good low profile volume pedal or a 12” or 15” Weber Chicago speaker (I’m not particular, any Chicago will do .
So c’mon down, amp guys (Sarno, Fox, et all). Let’s make a deal!!
Obviously this item is offered “as is”, and is for the pictured amp Chassis only.
Cheers,
John
