This was a question I had asked a while back. Can you turn a real track into a midi track so you can alter the notes. I have found the answer to be yes-sort of.

In options/pref I changed the settings on real tracks to make them midi and so it does. I then dragged it over to cakewalk and they are indeed midi.
Problem is, it loses the good real track sound and reverts to whatever sound the seQuenser program has. Unless you have a seperate sound generator to attach to the midi file, it's no good. The real track sound is gone. Pity.
