Smile Due to overwhelming requests over the past few months I am once again doing LeMay Mod Kits and installations. Some of the models I have done in the past are the ever trusty Nashville 400, the Vegas 400, Austin 400, Jazz Classic 400. Others may be available, just ask. An "Ultra Mod" version is in the works down the road.

Contact me at lemaniac@aol.com for further information. Installations will be available on all models. Price range of the mods will be about the same as before.

John

If you let John LeMay put his mods in your Nashville 400 [or just about any amp] you will be a very happy steel player!! John revived my old dead 400 a few years back & it is still by far, the best sound I can get from my steel or guitar. When you playing standard guitar you can pull out the 'pull bright' on the gain control & it will sound great. I have two other steel amps that cost me a lot of money, that cannot hold a candle to the John LeMay loaded Nasville 400.
I am happy to recommend John to any of you guys.

Ernie Pollock Very Happy

I believe I was the first customer John had when he came up with the Lemay mod years ago. I would do it again in a heartbeat if I had a N400 etc.

Glad you are offering them again John, you have been "hiding" way to long. Welcome back.

For those who have not heard the new Lemay preamp and volume pedal, find someone who has one and give them a listen.

+1 for the LeMay mod. I've logged a lot of miles on a LeMay modded NV 400 since the early 90's. Still going strong. Sounds terrific. Worth every penny.

The Nashville 400, Session 500 and Session 400 Limited kits are still available. Contact your local Peavey dealer or our factory parts department to order.

I just istalled the mod kit in my NV400. It's fantastic. I've played modded amps many times...now I own one! Very Pleased, thanks John.

I have my Nash 400 with the Lemay Mod for sale also, and I was hesitant to sell it; know after reading this,I believe I will just keep it. If it's good enough for Bruce Bouton, one of my favorite players, it's good enough for me.

Hi John:

I still use the Nash 400 you modified for me many years ago. Still sounds and performs nicely.

Regards,

Lenny

I just pulled my Peavey Session 400 Limited (w/ super-mod installed)out of the garage to play a gig.

Had a tough time dialing in the old sound because I had little time and lost the docs that came with the mod.
Is their guide to tweaking knobs on the amp to get there?

Tim

In the second post in this thread, I described my method: it should have your desired tone inside of 5 minutes:

I no longer build mod kits or install them. I am a dealer for Telonics preamps, power amps, volume pedals and pick up products. See my web page at http://www.john-lemay.com

Best Regards,
John

Thank you John for the response and to you Lane for the advice.
I'll try the method out and see what happens. In the meantime I'll take the Evans to the gigs!

Is there a mod kit for the LTD 400, the one from the 70's with the smaller cabinet?

Ken Fox has a capacitor upgrade, but you'd have to act fast (he doesn't repair, but he has said he'll install upgrades til December).
Since our amp doesn't have chips, there's no upgrade chipset.
