Although not a word in the Italian dictionary, the closest equivalent to sleepwalk is "sonambulo".

"Sleepwalk" is the quintessential steel guitar tune in Italy, Santo and Johnny were probably more famous there than anywhere else in the world. That is high tribute to them because steel guitar is little known in Italy. I am doing my little bit to change that. There are a few players and even some lap steel luthiers. "Sleepwalk" lives on 50 years after...

I think you'll find it's called "Sleep Walk", at least that's the name on the record and sheet music.. and the relevant web presences :- Here and Here Like Andy said (Camminata di sonno)

There IS an active Steel guitar orientated forum in Italy, http://slidinbob.forumup.it/ (513 members) as well as the MANY Italian players on that, there are quite a few on the European Steel Guitar Forum.

Kay, you should post your offerings there, for your peers on the European Continent to appreciate..Maybe even make your presence felt at the Next CISGF meeting.. It could always use some new input

They're not the same tune, but has anyone ever noticed the similarity between Sleepwalk and Born Free ?
