I had originally posted this some time ago, but noticed that someone has
recently asked about using a knee lever to raise the 1st string up a halftone.
He wasn't on the for-um back then, so I'm posting this again in a new
thread, in case other newer players might be interested as well.

It's an E9 'quick lick', the audio is - - > H E R E

The note sequence (after the three pickup notes) is:

1st Measure -

At fret 20, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with the 'F' Knee.

At fret 18, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with the 'F' Knee and the
Knee raising the first string a half-tone.

At fret 17, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with no Knee-levers.

At fret 15, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with the 'F' Knee.

2nd Measure -

At fret 13, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with the 'F' Knee and the
Knee raising the first string a half-tone.

At fret 12, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with the
Knee lowering the second string a half-tone.

At fret 10, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with no Knees.

At fret 8, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with the 'F' Knee.

3rd Measure -

At fret 6, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with the 'F' Knee and the
Knee raising the first string a half-tone.

At fret 5, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with no Knees.

At fret 3, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2 with the 'F' Knee.

At fret 1, play strings 3, then 1, then 4 then 2, with the 'F' Knee and the
Knee raising the first string a half-tone.

4th Measure -

At fret 1, play string 3, which is the Final Note.

Thank you very much for that Russ. The 1st string G lever is one I've been overlooking even though I have it on my guitar as a "fluke" half stop - my RKL really raises string one a full tone.

Thanks for digging up that old post -
I posted it purposely without tab so
that it could be in the 'Pedal Steel'
department, so it's great that you
added the tab and added it to the
'Tab' department as well.

Seeing the old post got me to digging, and

This is an example of how my copedant can get in the way. I raise my 1st with my LKR and raise my 4th with my LKL. I wanted to learn this lick so bad, I put in another rod that pushes on my E raise bell crank when I raise my 1st string. Works slick. Now I have to find where the conflict moved to.

Dick,
That's the Sho-Bud 'default' set-up,
they would ship steels out with the
'E' knees split that way unless the
buyer specified otherwise.
I've always liked having the raise and
lower (the 'E's) knee levers on the
same leg as the A and B pedals, since
all the 'meat & potatoe" chord forms

A pedal by itself
B pedal by itself
E's raise lever by itself
E's lower lever by itself
A&B together
A&Raise together
B&Lower together

are then accomplished within
one limb rather than two.
