The latest from Debra, James, daughter. James we miss you, brother.

Thanks for letting us know, James.
To any members of James' family who may see this, and to forum members who knew James, I offer my sincere condolences. I knew James for many years; he was a super player and a wonderful human being. It's so sad to see him go, but I'm glad that his suffering has ended, and he is now with our Lord.
He will be missed. Rest in peace, James.

Thankyou Tommy for your thoughtfulness.
I did not know James personally, however I would like to offer me and my wife's sincere condolences to the Wood family at this time. We also pray that the Allmighty,Loving and Caring God, will send his angels and surround and comfort them at this time of saddness.

We did not know him. But we know he was great guy, and steel player. Jim Pack played bass along side him countless times over the years. Jim always spoke very well of him. Jim is married to my cousin Marilyn.
Our Deepest Sympathy to the family of James Wood.

Well did not find out about James Woods passing til after memorial. Wished would have known sooner. Met James 20 or 25 years ago. He was playing the Sho-Bud ended up buying. This guitar was owned by Steve Lamb, maybe others, not sure. James played both necks
like there wasn't nothing to it. James made that Sho-
Bud talk I tell ya. Lost touch with him for a while. One day needed work done on a session 500. Called Steve Lamb, he gave me James ph. no. Took the amp to him, got to talkin, said I remember you Mr. Woods. You were playing the steel ended up buying. He checked out amp said just cleaned out pot or some-
thing no charge. We got to talking, found out we were
born in same mo, June, his 22nd mine 26th. He sang bass,me to. He also played for Wayne Newton. Gave me a cd of it. James was a state trooper around Abilene,Tx. Would liked to have had more time and learned more about his electronics skills and also steel pickin. He wil be missed. My sympathies to family and friends. |
