Does the Rains logo on the front say Rains Steel Guitars or Rains by Gary Carpenter?

Let me know and I will find out for you if I can.

glad you ask? Bob Rains started the Rains guitar
Bobby is a fine guitarst all so # 44 would most likely be Bobs. iam a close friend of Bob and helped put a few guitars togetherfor him. good luck with your VERY great guitar.

Des,

As mentioned, Bob Rains started the company. I bought my first Rains from Bob in 2005 - my second from Gary Carpenter in 2006. Everyone I have dealt with associated with Rains Guitars are first class people who make a first class instrument.

One of the top quality made guitars on the market today is a RAINS. With the upgrades, it's even better. Service second to none. There's a few I won't play or endorse. Rains is not one of them.

I think Des' guitar is from the Bob Rains period -- maybe serial #44 is the build sequence ??

Bobby Rains of Abilene Texas developed the Rains guitar. I think it took off like he never expected and it was transferred to Gary Carpenter. Call Gary. I bet he'd tell you anything you want to know and would almost certainly sell you a new one to your specifications if you like.

Hi there Des,
Sorry for not making myself clear as it was directed to David Hartley as he's also from the U.K. (a south westener) and his pickn' is something else.
