Hello Les,

Don't know you but certainly identify with you.
Lost my wife of 32 years six years ago this coming May 17 one month before our anniversary.
My prayers are that God be with you and see you through these difficult times as I feel he has helped me.
I was blessed when he joined us together for all those years and again to help me to adjust since her passing.
May he Bless you and your family in every way that is needed.

Loren

Les,
Prayers and hope of comfort from our Father. I would be devastated if I lost my lifes partner. As you grow older together, you form a bond that gets stronger each day. I hope God will ease the terrible pain you must be feeling.

Les, we have never met - even on the forum, but I know all to well what this feels like. I have stood where you now stand. I lost my wife of 28 1/4 years to cancer a little over six years ago. It will take a long time to "walk through the fog", so to speak, but "they" say that it really does happen. I was talking to an old "Shriner" at a meeting one night. I never saw him before, and haven't seen him since. In our conversation he asked if I was married. I told him of her passing. He said "Son -I've lost two of 'em".A minute or so later I said somthing like, "I just don't understand why..." He said "You never will this side of the sky". Shortly there after, I said that "I didn't know how I would ever get over it". He simply said "You won't - but you'll get used to it". Will I - or you? I don't know. No - I haven't yet. My hope tonight is that maybe I can ease just a little of the hurt and pain that I know that you are going through. This is very hard for me to talk about, so I will leave for now. God Bless... Jimmie

Thanks Guys and Gals,
Your words mean so much to me I can't describe it.
Jimmie Mesenheimer........I had the same conversation with a friend of mine when we lost our 20 year old daughter to a drunk driver in '95. He had lost 2 daughters in seperate accidents. I asked him, "How do you ever get over it?" He replied, "You don't, you can't, don't even try, but it does get easier over time." I'll never forget those words. He was right.
I had canceled all my gigs for about a 4 month period but got back into it this weekend with 3 of them. Was a bit rusty but it sure felt good to be setting behind the ol' steel again. Again all you guys and gals, all I can say is thanks and God bless all of you.
