These are the arrangements for Jennings.

Quote:
A celebration of life for Jennings N. Ward, age 73, of Edgewater, who died Monday at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Edgewater, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 29 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, with Pastor Kevin Mahoney, Rima Ridge Baptist Church, Ormond Beach, officiating. Interment will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born in Hix, West Virginia, Mr. Ward moved to this area in the 1980's from Chicago. He served in the United States Army in the mid 1950's. Mr. Ward loved music and played a variety of instruments, but his real love was the steel guitar. Known as the "Possum King"internationally, he was a member of the International Steel Guitar Club, and attended steel guitar conventions with his wife.

Along with his wife of 22 years , Ella, he is survived by a son, Albert Clay Pletcher (Kathlyn), of Ormond Beach; 7 daughters, Roxanna Zaricor (Zac) of Memphis, Tennessee, Julie Beth Ward of Tampa, Candice Williams of Arizona, Selby Sherman of Washington, Kathy Flatley ( Jim) of Holly Hill, Becky Baldwin (Bill) of Edgewater, Cindy Smith (Ben) of Annawalt, West Virginia; and 13 grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler for the SE Volusia Center, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, Florida, 32129.

The PK is gone. Jennings and I talked on the phone many times and exchanged e-mails. We always had a good visit when he would come to our Steel Club jams.

He will be missed.
