I got my used Derby from Cooper's about two years ago. Billy takes these steels into his shop and goes over them completely, so what you get is as close to new as possible. Also, Billy and Wanda are always there to answer any questions. Also, I got the best price in the business on the Nashville 112 I bought there last year. I have no reason to deal with anyone else.

Ron, I don't know if religion is a part of your life but it's very much a part of Billy & Wanda's life. They're fine upstanding people and I wouldn't hesitate to send any amount of money to them in a deal. I've never heard anyone say anything but good about Billy Cooper's Steel Shop & Store......JH in Va.

I have done business with Billy and Wanda for years and it has been a tremendous joy. I love to just go down and visit; but I always buy something, don't like to go home empty-handed. I believe that Buddy Emmons had Billy pick out a PP, Emmons and set it up for him that he used for some time and it is a fantastic guitar. I bought just about all my Buddy Emmons CDs from them, also a GFI S-10 among other merchandise. It's one place that I really feel at home.

Hey Ron, since I live only an hour and a half from Billy's shop, I go there often. I have purchased four pedal steels from Billy since 1994 (still have three of them) plus amps and other equipment. Billy and Wanda are absolutely the best.

When you buy a steel, it's like buying a car, you need to try it out, blaming a car dealer for a car that you may not like is often heard, or if things are not quite right, so i think the shop should be kept neutral in your choice and really, i think you should have a weekend away, and test drive it; Us musicians are very paticular in feel, tone, looks, colour, fretboard veiw, and every other little detail, a great steel is a great steel, but if you dont like it , its not a great deal, one mans meat is another mans poison, and thats just the way it is.
