We wish to announce the 10th annual Northeast Iowa Steel Guitar Jam being held Feb. 23-24, 2002 at the historic Electric Park Ballroom, 310 W. Conger, Waterloo, Iowa. The Jam will feature Doug Jernigan, Terry Bethel, DeWitt 'Scotty' Scott and an array of 28 steel players from six midwestern states for this fun event! Artists will perform 11 am to 11 pm on Saturday; and on Sunday, artists again take the stage following a morning church service with picking continuing until 6 or 6:30 pm. Doug Jernigan will present an E9 Intermediate/Advanced seminar on Friday, February 22. During the Jam, two individuals will be awarded scholarships in the Jump Start Academy designed to introduce new players to the steel guitar. The Heartland Inn (1809 LaPorte Rd, Waterloo)is the host motel and reservations need to be made by Feb. 21 to obtain the $55 rate (phone 319.235.4461). Lefty, Gail and I will be there with Curt and Jan Olsen, and the Rose Family. Can't wait for this weekend. It promises to be a great time, and where else can you go for just $8 a day to hear Doug, Terry, and Scotty, and other great players from our area.

Come one come all, this is going to be a great time. My reservation is already made and will be there on Friday to get ready for a great weekend.
