Just came back from Dal Perkins' funeral in Phoenix. Thought some of you might remember him. He was a singer/songwriter in the Southwest for many years, used to front for Waylon, and had a top 10 country song back in
the 60s called "Helpless". I used to play steel for Dal in Phoenix, and he was a good
entertainer. Got to see several old friends
at the services. Jimmy Yates (formerly with
Tater) and his wife Kathy came in from Nashville, Billy Williams, Butch Lowry, Rags Allen, and many more were there. Dal will be missed. Cancer is the culprit.

Sorry to hear about Dal. When was he with the Waylors, back in the early 1960s when Waylon was still in the Phoenix area?
