Loud and Clear: Resonator Guitars
and the Dopyera Brothers' Legacy to American Music
Herold Gallery, April 20, 2000 through June 11, 2000

"Loud and Clear" featuring some sixty resonator guitars along with drawings and photo murals, examines the rich tradition of making beautifully etched and crafted metal-body guitars and the music played on them.

The museum will host a variety of programming in conjunction with this exhibition including performances by some of the most outstanding resophonic guitar players and blues artists in Northern California. A number of the guitars will also be available to be played by the public.

Cathie Barwick and I will be hosting a Reception, Talk and Performance on Thursday, April 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

For directions and all, go to http://www.crockerartmuseum.org/

Hope to see you there on the 27th. I'll be bringing my Model 27 and my 10-string Zephyr. (Flash http://www.petegrant.com/flash_zephyr.html ) (Non-Flash http://www.petegrant.com/ZephyrPage.html )

Is this a traveling show/exhibit? If so is there a website or some other way I might find out about the schedule of appearances? I'm wondering if it might come to the NC Museum of Art.

It is a traveling exhibit, and I'll try and find out how it gets around and what kind of schedule there is.

According to the original post at the Erie Museum of Art web site, the next museum to host this exhibit will be the Lancaster Museum of Art in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
