I bought entire tuning pans with the tuners for way less then that. You just have to keep an eye out for them. There has beeen a ton of Fender lap steels on ebay lately. Most over priced but that will change soon.

Well... he's come down $50 already (now $279/$289 BIN). Another $100 and he'll probably get some business. It's the right idea, maybe he needs one large order or a guarantee from a group of stringmaster owners.
