I have a modern Desert Rose S-8 that I'd be willing to sell for $2k + shipping. It has 5 pedals and 5 knee levers. Truetone pickup, Bradshaw Sho~Bud style fretboard. The legs and pedal rods are 1" ...

It's not just that it's ceramic. There are lots of ceramic bars available. This one was heavier because of being hollow and filled with shot. It had a unique feel and tone. I'd really like to find ...

Mel was a consummate entertainer. His show was as perfe ...

I played Extended E9th for 30-odd years*. My low strings were .044 and .056. I didn't raise my low E, but I lowered it to D and C#, hence the heavier gauge.

*Actually, I still have a Sierra tuned ...

I used this ceramic bar for years and really liked the sound of it. Then I dropped it and it broke. Does anyone know who made it? I'm pretty sure I bought it at the ISGC in St. Louis.

Well worth the money. JCH guitars don't come up for sale very often. Every one I've heard sounded great. They are among the best D-10s ever made.

It's pretty easy to buy a standard E9th set and then add two low strings to the order. A lot of my customers do that.

Bobby Black really nailed it on that tune. I can understand why some thought it was Wally "Flying Fingers" Murphy on the song. The rapid single-note licks are his style.

I'd like to see the copedent for that. I've been playing D6th with A & B pedals added to it. I like the slightly darker timbre of a D tuning.

With tuning keys, each string has a different harmonic resonance because of the string length in the key head. On a keyless, those differences are removed, resulting in a more consistent tone from one ...

This is why I don't like U-12. Too many redundancies. You have 4 ways to get an open C# note, and 3 ways to get open E! There has to be a better way. Whoa!
