Aaron...not too sure on your particular question, but I tried an Excel S-12, and the strings are a tad closer together than other 12 stringers Wink

Dustin, one thing I forgot to mention is that when you have achieved your Dobro sound by what ever means, turn off your reverb or delay on your amp. A Dobro has a "dry" sound Very Happy

A much more simple idea is to just get a Boss GE-7 Graphic EQ.....with the right settings on the sliders it's a Dobro...use a Teflon bar or a wooden bar. Don't play pedal steel licks..don't use pedals ...
