I don't use my 1966 much, but I put a set of Svetlana 6L6's in it a few years ago I really like the tone of those. I have not tried the TAD's in that amp though.
I used the TAD EL-34's in my Matchles ...

It looks like Lollar makes a replacement pickup for this. It is the model on the Coodercaster, and a bit pricey at $265.00 I am sure it sounds wonderful.

My 2 cents: Buy a right handed double neck, restring it, and adapt to the controls and necks.
I have always done this for non-pedal steels.
Now if I tried to play a lefty it would seem odd.
