Mullen Steel Guitars makes a versatile bracket that might be a good place to start. It holds the pedal close to the pedal bar, but could be attached to an extender plate to move the vp back a bit.

Another consideration with the pedal steel version is the low profile option. Depending upon ankle flexibility, steel type and your posture one or the other may be a better fit.

Don't plug it in and turn it on until it's been gone over by a tech. The filter caps are surely bad and turning it on may damage the circuitry. I've seen too many "found" old amps damaged ...
