FWIW
I use D'Addario EJ42 (6 string phos/bronze) and buy additional singles, .030 wound for string 4 and .058 wound for string 8. Of course you can start with any standard reso set for G tuning ... |

No. The spider is the same. The bridge inserts will be wider although the string spacing will be narrower than your typical 6 spring spacing. | |
