It’s great that you have a lap steel. If you can set it up as a console, you can practice your ergonomics - posture, hand and leg positioning, etc., a get familiar with keeping your right foot on a ...

After learning the cabinet drop of my own instrument, I only ever really need to tune the open strings, unless I alter a change, or change string gauges. I usually check pedals and levers after a stri ...

A mistake of sorts in post, reverb would be the last effect in the chain. A delay after it would repeat the reverb, and that could get a bit muddy..

I think I will try reverb, delay and phase shifter ahead of the volume pedal; overdrive and wah after the volume pedal.

Just tune up and play, right.

I think people knew what cabinet drop was the very first moment they heard their E string go flat when they stepped on the the AB pedals.

Funny, this forum is full ...

Try parallel 3rds. That works for most of it. Where 3rds sound weak, try perfect 5ths. I would let the melody sit on top and put harmonies beneath, like the video guy in Bill’s post did. There are n ...

Or we could call psg’s “toe cheese” guitars.

Seriously. How about fretted guitar, or finger guitar? Armpit is just plain stupid, disrespectful, and conceited.

Just to clarify for the OP-
Doug recommends a wound 6th (.022, I believe) for his Stage One. He says it stabilizes the tuning with the pull-release changer configuration.

Right, Roger. And also, every 9th chord has a half-diminished and an altered dominant (#5b9) chord lurking within. So the B-Bb change adds to that.

The minor voicing AB+Bb seems superfluous to me ...

I have it on str 10 and 5 with a “0” pedal next to A, so AB+0 is a little impractical.

Split with A is cool though. On C#m voicings (str 10-8-6-5-4-3) you can do the chromatic walk down from t ...

I have an ME-25. There are 10 variations of OD/Dist.

With a Peterson phone app tuner and a couple of adapters, that and a used ME-25 would be about $150.
