I am sure Basil's bars are an improvement, but what we are seeing here is the technological breakthrough which rendered the rusty railroad spike obsolete.

You may be correct. There is something of Roy's trademark wackiness in their. The tone of the guitar could be his also. Its not my favourite steel guitar sound.
