I've played my D8 Stringmaster on my lap. It works, but I'm not sure why I'd play it that way. Smile

I messed around with that tuning on guitar, but never of steel. Looks like it has a lot of possibilities with those Am, Am7 (C6), C, F, Fmaj7, Dm, and Dm7 (F6) ...

Yes and No.

For some tunes I use a thumb pick and 2 fingerpicks. For other tunes I use a thumb pick and 3 fingerpicks.
For still other tunes I use no picks at all.
