Might be worth checking out. I have been on stage with guys who use them and they sounded awesome to me.
James Williamson plays steel and is into those amps. He would be able to tell you more.

I am a big fan of the Hinson Brand X cases. They actually hold up better than standard cases. They protect better also. I use them for fly dates. As do many road players I know.

Erv's way is the best. To cut the other end you need to rethread. You made need to cut down the insert rod too.

I can't think of any reason to lock it. Maybe if somebody wants to take it out of the case, set it up and see if it has there set up on it before they steal it ?
